I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the LORD.” (Psalm 122:1)
What a joyful occasion it was for David to worship God with God’s people! We can imagine David happily going to the tabernacle of meeting, there to participate in God’s ordained worship. Yet, how discouraging it is when Christians make excuses not to participate in the arranged worship of the church (God’s house). You must decide which attitude of heart you will have. Will you have a heart that is uplifted by faith to joyfully join with other Christians to honor God in worship? Or, will you have an indifferent, complaining heart that chooses other things rather than serving God first? David was a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). Let us wisely and faithfully follow David’s example. Choose to worship and serve the Lord with gladness of heart.
