7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. (1 Corinthians 2:7–10, NKJV)
The gospel reveals God’s great mystery of redemption. Divine plans and purposes that had been established by God before time are exposed and explained in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The New Testament of Christ is the product of divine wisdom and power; the wisdom of eternal truth and the power to redeem sinners. Only God could conceive such a plan. The Son of God gave His life to fulfill God’s plan. The Spirit of God has revealed God’s plan to the whole world. The gospel is God’s definitive statement of His power and wisdom (1 Cor. 1:21-25).
